Story

Written in August of 1999 in Moorhead, MN. The humidity on this particular August night was unbearable. I lived in between a swamp and a river in a house with no air conditioning. At 3am when this song happened there was condensation running off the top of my guitar. Sleep was out of the question.

Lyrics

Swim in my room Can you feel the air around us? Move Free Breathe Embrace the heat There is no way to escape it Rise Feel Breathe Breathe deep with me Welcome the night Notice now that there is no wind And move Free Breathe Expect the rain Predict that you cannot know it Fall Free Breathe Breathe deep with me Look above the clouds See that the sun is always shining Move Free Breathe Swim in my room Can you feel the air around us? Move Free Breathe Breathe deep with me Lie still...breathe 2003 Eric Addington Music ASCAP

Lyrics

Go ahead run away I don't care anymore Go on it's okay Walk right out the door Leave me behind Cause I am sick of you Go on take your lies Take them with you too Cause I am standing here With or without you I am standing strong There is nothing you can do All you do is plan But you never follow through You don't know who I am So don't pretend that you do Cause I already forgot You were ever here You think I'm hurt, but I'm not I'm finally seeing clear I am standing alone With my head up high I am standing strong There is no you and I 2003 Eric Addington Music ASCAP

Lyrics

Once again the sky's alive With dancing clouds Of dragonflies Open heart; open eyes All I see Are dragonflies Strange to think Of time gone by Flies so fast like dragonflies River runs Colors bright Blue and green like a dragonfly Walk away Do not try With wings so thin like a dragonfly Summer ends Say goodbye Can't survive the dragonfly Summer ends Born again Different now it's changed somehow 2003 Eric Addington Music ASCAP

Lyrics

Wait, before you go There is something I'd like to tell you I hope you find the one I found in you So that you might know the feeling I have felt Holding your hand I never felt so free The drive in the car with your hand upon my knee The sound of your voice saying "I love you too." It's the feeling that I felt in the small things that you do Wait, before you go There is something I'd like to tell you I won't call, but you can always call on me Because I can't stand in the way of you being happy Holding his hand you never felt so free The drive in the car with his hand upon your knee The sound of his voice saying "I love you just because." It's the feeling that you feel in the small things that he does Wait, before you go There is something I'd like to tell you I hope you find the one I found in you So that you might know the feeling I felt When I loved you 2003 Eric Addington Music ASCAP

Lyrics

I can see half of the moon Now that the rain's washed the sky I can see half of myself But I can't look it in the eye Look away, look away, look away from me Look away, look away, tell me what you see I see color, I see black and white, I see wrong and right I see you and I together I can't find faith anymore Now that I don't believe I can't live my life like this For something to big to conceive Please believe, please believe, please believe in me Please believe, please believe, so I can be free Free to love, free to fly, free from lies Free with you forever I don't want to step on any toes So I will walk cautiously How can I change for you If you don't talk to me? Talk to me, talk to me, tell me how you feel Talk to me, talk to me, tell me you are real Really love, really free, really me Are you really me? I can see half of the moon Now that the rain's washed the sky 2003 Eric Addington Music ASCAP

Story

Written January 12, 2002 in Moorhead, MN. Relationships are hard work because they're all different and you have to learn as you go...most of the time from mistakes. This song is part apology and part invitation to continue learning with me.

Lyrics

Disagreements will come and go When you talk them through Last night I screwed up When I didn't talk to you I didn't sleep and you didn't sleep And oh the night was long I was too proud to admit That I was wrong But I am learning I am learning How to get around To keep from falling To keep from falling To keep this feeling sound This is a job; we've got to work hard If we're going to make this thing last Got to keep walking, got to keep on talking Even after the honeymoon has past It will be uphill sometimes I know But this is how we'll learn If I get lost sometimes Be patient and I will return Because I am learning I am learning How to get around To keep from falling To keep from falling To keep this feeling sound 2003 Eric Addington Music ASCAP

Story

Written in early autumn of 2001 in Fargo, ND. This was written early one morning in the amount of time it takes to sing it. You can see a long ways from a fifth floor apartment in downtown Fargo, ND. I was looking at the leaves on the trees below and wishing they would stay a little longer.

Lyrics

Fall is coming You can feel it in the air You can feel it in the air today You can see it in the sky The sun isn't there The sun's a little further away And the leaves will change So we can see We'll see their colors before they die And if the leaves can change So can we Maybe it's about time we try Maybe it's about time we try To show our beauty before we die 2003 Eric Addington Music ASCAP

Story

Written November 6, 2002. It started in Dubuque, IA and finished in Moorhead, MN.

Lyrics

It's been awhile; I think it's safe to say Let's avoid all those stupid games we used to play Let's just sit and talk; go someplace dark and have a drink I can tell you what I'm doing you can tell me what you think We've both changed; it's plain to see We're both older now than we used to be But I can still make you laugh; even though it's been awhile The sound of you laughing has always made me smile And I'm smiling now Cause you're here with me This bar is not as dark As we used to be Now we're all caught up; on all the day to day Stir the ice in our glasses with nothing left to say Part of me; wants to apologize But my "I'm sorry's" can't swim in a sea of lies And anyways; I'm sorry's just an empty phrase That we used to justify back in the good old days But what's between us now; there are no words And it magnifies the point that our silence serves And we're smiling now Cause we both know That the light we had Never had a chance to grow You get up to leave; so I stand up too I reach out to shake your hand; it seems like the thing to do But you pull me close; and you hug me tight And tell me you're glad to hear everything is going all right And you're smiling now As you turn to leave We were never as dark As we used to believe 2003 Eric Addington Music ASCAP

Lyrics

Standing here together Side by side we'll be forever And I want you to know That I love you Lighting this candle together Our love will shine forever And I want you to know That I love you Yes I want you to know that I love you This ring that I give to you Is the circle of our love unbroken And it will always be strong and faithful The promise that I make to you Is more than the words I say It's how I'll live my life with you Every day Standing here your hand's in mine Standing here hearts entwined And I know that you know That I love you I love you I love you 2003 Eric Addington Music ASCAP

Story

Written August 7, 2002 in Moorhead, MN. I'm always looking for a connection with music...when I play, write, or listen. How that connection happens is a mystery to me, but it does happen and I'm grateful for it.

Lyrics

I will walk through this storm I will laugh at the rain I can look back at my past Because this sound makes me sane There are things that I have done There are things I could not give There are things that I regret But this sound can forgive This sound is you This sound is me This sound is what we know And it's a mystery I will walk beneath this sun I will smile with the breeze I can face forward Cause this sounds puts me at ease There are things that I will do Things I think can't be done The sum of these things is who I'll be And this sound is what they'll become This sound is you This sound is me This sound is what we know And it's a mystery 2003 Eric Addington Music ASCAP

Story

Written August 26, 2002 in Moorhead, MN. Four years out of college I ran into an old friend who's spent the meantime in the military stationed in the middle east. After our conversation I felt like my day-to-day living was slightly less profound than I had once believed.

Lyrics

I drive this car up and down these streets And I play guitar up and down these songs This is how I spend my time; this is who I am This is how I spend my time; this is who I am But who are you? You can't tell me What do you do? You can't say Except you fly in a plane over there Over there You're fighting a war that no one can see except on tv And I wave my flag high in the land of the free Insignificant me I say thank you You smile like you've heard it before I don't know what to say to you I can't imagine the things you've seen But this is how you spend your time; this is who you are This is how you spend your time; this is who you are But who am I? I don't know this And would I die? I can't say Except I don't have to because of you Because of you You're fighting a war that no one can see except on tv And I wave my flag high in the land of the free Insignificant me This is who I am This is how I spend my time Insignificant 2003 Eric Addington Music ASCAP
